WWF Freestyle/Greco Developmental Training Site at Kaukauna High

    

 

Kaukauna was host to the second of three state training sites on April 27-28 for freestyle and Greco wrestling. The first was in late March at Victory School in River
Falls, and the third will be at Advance School in Madison in late May. The WWF
sponsors the sites and workouts are conducted by its state coaches for the
cadet and junior level teams.

The sites are free to any USA card member and the number is limited to the first 70 who apply online. In addition to the open workouts, the Wisconsin National team also worked out in separate practice sessions. Between both groups nearly 100
talented athletes from around the state were training this past weekend in
Kaukauna.

Kaukauna is very fortunate to be recognized as owning one of, if not thee, very best wrestling training facilities in the state. This recognition allows us to draw others in
to learn from. If you build it, people will come!

Recycle Bin Fundraiser a Huge Success

 An army of 50 soldiers called the Kaukauna Wrestling Nation came with trucks, trailers, and muscle to deliver nearly 2500 recycle bins to the City of Kaukauna residents on a brisk, but sunny Saturday April 20. The bins came in stacks of nine high and were carefully loaded onto to trailers by either fork lift or by hand. Several crews of 6-8 people were sent out with maps and bins and assembled each can with an axle and wheels prior to drop-off. All bin numbers were recorded to match resident addresses and a data entry team compiled all information into files for the city. Thank you to all who came out to help. It was great to see so many people, do so much work, yet have so much fun. That’s not a surprise…..that’s wrestling!

This project would not have been possible without the effort of Lee Meyerhofer. Lee spent countless hours preparing for this day and it was a smooth operation.
